If you are a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident who wants to bring your spouse, parent, sibling, or child to the United States, you can file for a family or marriage petition on behalf of an intending noncitizen alien.

In order for a family or marriage petition to be approved, a bonafide relationship must be established between the petitioner and the beneficiary; for petitioning spouses, their marriage must be established as a legitimate marriage entered in good faith and not just for obtaining an immigration benefit.
